KY Day 4- Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
I really didn't do much today besides have a lovely Thanksgiving with my friend Sonya and her boyfriend, Patrick, go into a brief turkey coma, and then see a movie.
I am so grateful to Sonya for taking me in for the holiday. It was really hard not being with my family, and it was also my first Thanksgiving being single in three years so those two things made me feel strange about the whole day, but having some great food with a great friend made everything a little bit better.
The movie I ended up seeing after passing out for a few hours was the Florida Project. It's an incredible, moving, funny, and heartbreaking film. The six year old main actress delivers a show stopping performance, and Willem Defoe probably plays the warmest character of his career (which sounds weird considering he played Jesus once). It also seemed like a fitting Thanksgiving movie, because seeing a movie about characters just barely scraping by on the fringes of the society really makes you appreciate everything you have.
